Helpful guides
Frequently asked questions
When are my company accounts due?
For most private limited companies, accounts must be filed at Companies House within 9 months of the company's year end. The corporation tax is usually due 9 months and 1 day after the year end, and the company tax return within 12 months.
Can you take over from my current accountant?
Yes. Switching is straightforward. With your permission, we contact your previous accountant for the information we need, and we handle the HMRC authorisation for you.
Do I need an accountant if I'm the only director?
There's no legal requirement, but a one-person company still has to file accounts, a corporation tax return, a confirmation statement and the director's own tax return. An accountant makes sure these are right and on time, and helps you take money out of the company tax-efficiently.
Do you work with companies outside Southampton?
Yes. We're based in Southampton and work with companies across Hampshire, including Romsey, Winchester, the New Forest and Totton. Meetings can be in person or online.
